I have found something that ALL teachers want: "FREE"! Teachers LOVE free stuff, so, when I learned about Google Drive, and that it was FREE, I was on board! I recently read about Google Drive online; I had heard of it before, but I didn't give it much attention since my prior school district had never had much money to invest in technology for most of my teaching year. With my recent move to a new state, and an administration that puts their money where their mouth is, I've been scrambling to catch up, and since my recent investigation on this find, I'm sold. Not only does it do almost everything Word does for FREE (documents, spreadsheets, and PowerPoints), it also enables you to create online quizzes that Google Drive GRADES FOR YOU!!!! That's right, folks! For the handy-dandy price of "FREE" you can have your tests graded for you! The link I provided above walks you through the steps of creating a Google Drive account (if you don't already have one), and then shows you how to create a quiz that can be graded for you. I sent out a practice quiz to all my friends who love me and wouldn't mind sending me some irrelevant information for my experimental practice. I asked them silly, non-personal questions so I could play with the features. Google Drive automatically saves as you go, AND when you create quizzes you can go back later and make changes if you don't like how it turned out. All YOU have to do is take the quiz one time in order to create the answer key, and then you're done! You can embed the link in a website (In my case, I used Class Jump), tweet it, type it on a paper, whatever.... Students take the test on THEIR time, and then you get feedback. I have found that using it for tests with many questions that are long response is difficult to manage, but for short, especially multiple choice progress monitoring - you'll feel a huge weight lifted when you start using this! Have fun perusing, and I hope you find some ideas that could work for you! I've even included some helpful links so you can look at samples :) Group work/Peer Review
